Spiro Conveyor Floor home  Technical  Features  Applications  More Information  Applications Truck Mounted and Static Conveyor Floors Floors for Lorry Trailers This is the classic application for a moving floor unit. Fitted to the lorry chassis, the floor is used to discharge the bulk material load from the trailer. Increasingly, the use of traditonal tipper trailers is being frowned upon as a result of the lorry being blown over when the tipper body is raised. With a moving floor, there is no tipping so the vehicle and associated personnel remain safe. Furthermore, reception areas do not require such a high roof, so the use of moving floor trailers is essential if there are height restrictions either due to overhead obstructions or local planning constraints. Static Moving Floor Bunkers Static Moving Floor Bunkers are the ideal technique for the reception of bulk materials. Lorries can discharge their loads directly onto the floor which can then be activated to feed the materials into the process as required. They can also act as large "horizontal silos" for applications where height restrictions prevent the use of silos. Rather than store material vertically, the material is stored horizontally. This is especially useful for cohesive products that might bridge across a silo bottom. Typical uses include reception of compost, peat, meat and bone meal, cereals etc. Revolutionary TNS Floor The recent launch of the new TNS floor from Spiro revolutionised the moving floor industry. Instead of using the traditional three groups of planks, this design just uses two sets. The TNS floor can be used on both lorry trailers or as a static unit.
