Control of Odour and Dust

Over the last 10 to 15 years, many improvements have been made in the reduction of dust in the environment. To this end, we have supplied many kilometres of Traffield Conveyor Covers during the last decade. The Schrage Tube Chain Conveyor has also made a major contribution to the reduction of dust in factories.

A new technology is emerging that is proving very effective at combatting fugitive dust - fogging systems. It is both economical and effective to use. Many new users are greatly surprised by its performance which often exceeds expectations. Fogging systems are proven to be an effective method for:

  • dust suppression
  • dust abatement
  • odour control

Renby is delighted to offer the comprehensive and economical Fogco Systems Inc. range of products.

Using a simple pressurised water supply, the Fogco System is far less expensive to operate and maintain than traditional air injection systems. The systems are designed for both interior and exterior applications and can even be used to remove workplace related odours economically.

How it works

The Fogco system works as follows: first, it produces a high concentration of 10 to 12 micron fog droplets. This size water droplet (10 - 12 millionths of a metre in diameter) optimally suppresses PM 10 and smaller dust particles. Small particles of dust adhere to the fog droplets. As these grow, their weight increases such that they then fall out of the air. The water droplet size is important - much larger - and smaller dust particles will bounce off the surface tension of the droplet. The systems can effectively remove breathable and fugitive dust in the range 0.1 to 1000microns. Importantly, in the increasingly complex legal environment, Fogco Systems meet or exceed the EPA PM 10 standards for dust suppression.
